# The area of the ball

A sphere is a three-dimensional object whose contours and flat sections are circles. In other words, all points on the sphere are at the same distance from the fixed point (center). A ball is a special object that has the smallest surface-to-volume ratio among all other three-dimensional shapes with a given volume. It is comparable to a circle that covers the largest area with a given perimeter compared to other flat shapes.
