# Common factor and multiple

The greatest common factor (**GCF**) for two integers is the greatest of their common factors.Example: for numbers 22 and 12, the greatest common factor is 2.

The smallest common multiple (**SCM**) of two integers is the smallest positive integer that is divided by these two numbers without a remainder. Example: for numbers 6 and 8, the SCM will be equal to 24.
